Il Casale Di Mario

Upon arrival, welcomed by son Luca, weather permitting, treat yourself to a pause on the lawn facing the lake before entering and immersing yourself in the elegance of the dining rooms. You’ll begin in the rock room for the welcome, aperitif, and dish selection, then move to the refined service room, a masterful mix of diverse elements combined with open kitchens framed like paintings. Recently, a new à la carte selection method was introduced, allowing each diner to choose at least two dishes from the Departures and Arrivals sections (excluding Sweet Stops). Alternatively, you can opt for one

A few kilometers from Orvieto, after a series of winding roads in the village of Morrano Nuovo, an old 1980s sign will guide you to the restaurant Da Gregorio. A stop here is a must: straightforward, local cuisine with homegrown vegetables and cured meats, and a wine list celebrating small winemakers and native grape varieties. The grilled pork with maple syrup is a must-try – a true surprise on the plate.

Whether you dine indoors in the charming, romantic dining room or outdoors with views of the surrounding countryside, you’ll enjoy traditional local cuisine and classic Italian favourites at this restaurant. Our inspectors particularly enjoyed the excellent beef carpaccio with truffles and the local guinea fowl with chickpeas. Comfortable guestrooms are also available.

In this simple restaurant boasting an attractive outdoor summer garden and splendid views of the Duomo, chef Anna Rita focuses on carefully selected ingredients from the region and beyond. Highlights include soft egg, pan-fried courgettes and spring onions, and pecorino crumble, as well as soft veal rump, Jerusalem artichoke sauce and home-made pickled vegetables. The wine and spirits selection is particularly appealing – as an example, the Orvieto Classico Superiore Doc “Vendemmia Tardiva” is the perfect pairing for your dessert.

In the centre of Orvieto, Coro is set in the captivating deconsecrated church of San Giuseppe. The modern, refined style provides the backdrop for chef Ronald Bukri’s cuisine, which weaves together memory, innovation, and global influences into dishes with a distinctly contemporary character.

Boasting the attractive ambience of a typical Italian trattoria, La Palomba has been run by the Cinti family since 1965 and is now in the hands of the third generation. The menu features Umbrian specialities including delicious home-made umbrichelli pasta served with various sauces.

This restaurant occupying an elegant villa in a panoramic location with views of Todi and the surrounding countryside serves modern cuisine with its roots in Umbrian tradition. The extra-virgin olive oil comes from directly from the estate, as does some of the wine; there’s also an interesting selection of champagnes. Our inspector recommends the roast suckling pig accompanied by rosemary-flavoured potatoes, as well as the hazelnut cream, yoghurt sorbet and warm chocolate foam dessert. Quiet, comfortable guestrooms complete the picture.
