A good location in a narrow pedestrianised street in Terrassa’s old quarter. The couple who own it (Imma is in charge of the dining room while Sergio mans the stoves) focus on updated traditional cuisine which, whenever possible, uses locally sourced organic ingredients and tries to revive long-forgotten recipes from local farms, albeit with a modern twist. The name of the restaurant, which translates literally as “the sky of the geese”, is an expression frequently used by Imma’s grandfather to describe anything that was “sublime”. Varied à la carte, set daily menu, plus an extensive seasonal

Although the word “Vapor” (the Spanish for “steam”) automatically brings to mind the world of gastronomy, here, in a lively pedestrianised street in Terrassa’s old quarter, it is also used to pay tribute to the unusual industrial revolution that took place in Terrassa in the 19C, where steal transformed its textile industry and led to the town’s reputation as “the town of steam engines”. Behind the façade, you’ll find a pleasant brasserie-style eatery with an open-view kitchen, where the regionally inspired à la carte always champions locally produced and “zero-miles” ingredients. A family-run restaurant that is almost always full and has been delighting local palates since 1949! Located in a wooded area alongside a main road, it boasts a pleasant terrace, an attractive entrance hall and several simply laid out dining rooms, including one with an open fireplace. The cuisine here is focused on Catalan dishes with pride of place given to grilled dishes (we enjoyed the grilled octopus with a “trinxat” of broccoli, "torreznos” from Soria, and a piripiri sauce, as well as variety of local specialities such as the famous Mongetes del Ganxet – tender white beans which are only

A family-run restaurant named after a thermal wind from the southwest that blows across the whole of the Levante region. The owner-chef, who has taken over the reins following the retirement of his parents, is closely involved with the collective of “Cuina Vallès” chefs, and their straightforward approach to traditional Catalan cuisine. As a result, the menu is bursting with legendary classic dishes such as Mongetes del ganxet white beans from Can Casamada, tripe with chickpeas, crispy fried brains, and the delicious oxtail stew. The daily menu is particularly popular here!

Casa Nita

Farm to table

€€

The first thing that draws your attention here is Casa Nita’s small size – a space of just 18m². This limitation has meant that they only work with fresh ingredients (which they buy daily from the century-old Mercat de La Independència across the street) and don’t have stoves or oven with which to cook hot food, hence the use of a blowtorch, sandwich-maker, Thermomix steamer etc, to put the finishing touches to dishes. As a result, Casa Nita offers a very different dining experience but one which is interesting nonetheless thanks to dishes that are well composed and full of personality. We can

Tradition, cutting-edge, flavour, attitude and passion, along with a consistent approach, define to perfection the cooking of Jordi Cruz. In his elegant restaurant boasting views of a tranquil garden dotted with some amazing works of contemporary art, he offers diners a unique gastronomic experience that constantly evolves in line with ingredients from the changing seasons. These are always combined with his technical ability as he revisits Catalan and other Mediterranean flavours with a nod to influences from elsewhere around the globe. The experience here, which begins with appetisers in the

€€

Ébano occupies an aristocratic property in a residential district, and is surrounded by chalets and a pleasant tree-shaded terrace. In its bright, contemporary-style dining rooms, the focus is on modern cooking with strong traditional roots, seasonal ingredients and an obsession with defined flavours. The à la carte, including a selection of rice dishes (we enjoyed the “arroz del corral” with organic chicken, butifarra del perol sausage and butifarra blood sausage) is accompanied by daily specials, with a focus on fresh fish, and a tasting menu, from which you can also order individual dishes.
