Soseki

Fusion, Sushi · ★ Michelin

$$$$

This intimate operation by Chef Mike Collantes is a prime example of an omakase that blends traditional and contemporary elements seamlessly. The counter is lit like a stage, with bright spotlights, dark walls, sleek wood floors, and ten plush seats. The smaller courses are ever-evolving thanks, in part, to a genuine commitment to local Florida produce. Previous highlights include Scandinavian-style sashimi, pan-seared scallop with cauliflower and caviar, and corn chawanmushi. As for sushi, expect a faultless progression of warm, vinegared rice paired with a wonderful selection of fish, each o

Contemporary · ★ Michelin

$$$$

Chef Ryan Ratino's lauded D.C. restaurant, Jônt, is more than just the inspiration for this offshoot. This Winter Park restaurant echoes that spirit and sensibility (think classic French techniques married with pristine Japanese ingredients), albeit with a few Florida touches. The larger space allows for discrete moments at each meal, while three tasting menus run the gamut from tightly edited and more affordable to loaded with luxury ingredients. No matter the selection, expect refined dishes punctuated by the seasons, as in chawanmushi with an autumnal twist of braised sweet potato, kombu, a

The Ravenous Pig

Gastropub · Bib

This Winter Park modern gastropub came to be thanks to the vision of noted restaurateurs, James and Julie Petrakis. Housed right beside their eponymous brewery, the space exudes a moody, industrial vibe by way of charcoal hues, rustic wood accents and a gray ceiling marked by exposed ductwork. The open kitchen on the left has frosted glass panels that add a bit of mystery to the culinary proceedings.Chef Clay Miller's menu is a bona fide study of classic pub fare with creative Southern spins—to wit, ranchero sauce-dressed pork burnt ends over cornbread pudding or cured pastrami brisket with pi

Chuan Fu

Chinese, Sichuan

This sleek Winter Park spot is elegant and polished but never feels stuffy thanks to warm service that shows genuine consideration for each guest. The large Szechuan menu features many of the classics served in a traditional family-style manner, and the solid cooking shows its skill with layered flavors and bold takes. First, tuck into the cucumber salad, with its punch of soy and garlic, before settling into the Chongqing chicken with its chili and peanut garnish. A bowl of flaky white fish in a savory broth loaded with vegetables, pickled cabbage and glass noodles is further proof that heat

This seasonal delight arrives courtesy of Park Lights Hospitality and Chef Brandon McGlamery. Set along a tree-lined street, an overhead sign and tables out front signal the entry to this vast retreat. Inside, the room is rustic-chic, with vaulted ceilings, exposed brick and Edison bulbs that illuminate a central bar as well as caramel-leather booths.Flavorful Italian-American fare with a focus on wood-fired pizzas is what this kitchen does best. Start with crispy pumpkin arancini, enriched by celery root and apple mostardo. Then savor one of their ever-rotating pies with delectable toppings,

This sleek modern Mediterranean dazzler is smack in the center of the ever-charming Winter Park. It's a bit of a scene, so dress up for shared plates and a family-style menu with a focus on the Cycladic region. It's best enjoyed as a duo or a group, especially with their tempting selection of mezze, appetizers, salads and raw options—and that's just to start. Don't skip the crispy eggplant zucchini with its alternating stack of paper-thin slices. Move on to seafood-focused main dishes but save plenty of room for their baklava. It's a knockout modernized rendition of the traditional phyllo and

Asian

Opened in 2018, this restaurant is the brainchild of Thai-born Isra Sunhachawi and his Vietnamese brother-in-law, Quan Van. Found in a Winter Park shopping center, the space is tiny and simple, offering seating for a handful at a dark granite counter as well as at a few tables. Everything is freshly prepared, and the room quickly fills with the sounds and scents of the crew at work. The concise menu never loses focus, and regulars are well aware that it's all about stir-fried noodles and spicy Korean-style chicken wings. Ramen is also a treat, like the tonkotsu shio, featuring a richly flavored
