Modern French, Creative · ★★★ Michelin

It is thanks to Thomas Schanz that this small town on the Mosel, already known for its excellent wines, has also become a mecca for foodies. With his own distinctive style, he puts a modern spin on classic cuisine. The dishes are very precisely and delicately crafted using ingredients of outstanding quality. Prepared with a very personal touch, one of the chef-patron's signature classics is his pot-au-feu, which is adapted to each season – at the time of our visit it featured rabbit saddle, kidney and liver, young root vegetables and lovage – simply wonderful! Wein- und Tafelhaus
Farm to table, Mediterranean Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€€
In this small winemaking village, Daniela and Alexander Oos have turned a winegrower's house dating back to 1672 into a lovely fine dining restaurant where guests really feel at home. The chef cooks up classic cuisine using seasonal ingredients and drawing on Mediterranean and Asian influences; front of house, the cordial proprietress wins over diners with her easy Tyrolean charm. Punchy, elegant dishes made from top-notch ingredients (eg tender and aromatic slow-cooked Wagyu beef saddle with a robust jus full of depth and delicate sweetness) are accompanied by a great wine list with an emphas

Rüssel's Landhaus
Creative, Farm to table · ★ Michelin
€€€€
The charm of this country house already makes itself felt as you approach via a small bridge – the character of the idyllic old mill has been beautifully preserved and adapted for modern dining. The decor reflects the passion that Ruth and Harald Rüssel have poured into their establishment, as does the food. In the kitchen, the chef-patron and his son Frederik act as a dual force at the helm and, supported by their capable team, they serve up a set menu comprising four to seven courses. The classically based cuisine, peppered with creative accents, relies on select ingredients and solid crafts

Christiane Detemple-Schäfer and Oliver Schäfer form an absolute dream team and have been working here since 1992. Their impressive dedication to the task has made Le temple a permanent fixture on the fine dining scene – not only in tiny Neuhütten, but also among the MICHELIN-starred restaurants in Rhineland-Palatinate. They serve up elaborate classic cuisine with the best seasonal ingredients. Numerous ingredients are skilfully combined to create complex, very precise and delicately crafted dishes. The five- to seven-course set menu starts with amuse-bouches that set the tone nicely. The taste

This excellent alternative to Rüssel'schen fine dining restaurant is very popular with guests! Here in the left-hand side of this attractive country house, the buzzy atmosphere is pleasingly laid-back; the tasty food is made using good-quality ingredients. Classic cuisine with regional influences can be enjoyed as a set menu or à la carte – game and braised meat are among the favourites.

Thierry Roussel and Jane Kölchens run this place with dedication. The elegant restaurant exudes cosiness, and the extremely friendly service, directed by your hostess, also contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. At beautifully laid tables, upscale classic cuisine is served in the form of set menus (one vegetarian) or à la carte. They are also happy to share their wine recommendations, including some from their own production. Plus: guestrooms where you will feel right at home.

The former tithe farm from 1485 - still with a beautiful half-timbered facade - offers homely, modern guest rooms and a very nice, tasteful and casual restaurant on two floors with smaller and larger rooms and charming niches. The kitchen serves really good contemporary dishes from many regional and always seasonal products. Wines from the own vineyard. In summer, the terrace is inviting.
