Maerz - Das Restaurant

Creative French, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

Modern tastes meet regional flair with harmonious results – both in the food and the aesthetic of the fine dining restaurant of the hotel Rose, run by brothers Benjamin and Christian Maerz. With its beautiful warm wood panelling and clean lines, the interior is at once cosy, trendy and chic. The cuisine, too, draws on regional culinary tradition as well as contemporary trends, in the form of a set menu dubbed "Heimweh/Fernweh". The chef uses first-rate ingredients sourced from the region, refined with spices from all over the globe, cleverly married in dishes such as "sturgeon in nori, unagi e

Dedicated, cordial and consistent service is the name of the game in the Ottenbacher family establishment, a fact which can be put down to their long tradition of hospitality, which spans four generations! Here, they cultivate tradition and yet continue to evolve – as you can see in the spruce half-timbered house with its green shutters, where historical charm meets more modern and elegant design features. Moritz Feichtinger's classic cuisine also draws on the region for inspiration. There is a choice of three menus - including a vegan and a regional menu - and à la carte dishes. Diners can al

This restaurant's tasteful modern interior design has been beautifully integrated into the historical setting of the 150-year-old Monrepos estate. Outside, there is a delightful terrace under the shade of chestnut trees. The seasonally influenced cuisine is served in the form of a set menu (vegetarian version available) and à la carte. Options include classics such as Zwiebelrostbraten (fried beef and onions in gravy) with champagne sauerkraut, as well as modern dishes such as wild garlic risotto with red prawns marinated in rosemary and burrata. This charmingly laid-back restaurant serves dishes made with regional and seasonal ingredients, drawing on influences from the Mediterranean and beyond. The best way to experience the culinary artistry is through the six-course set menu. There is also a popular lunch deal that changes weekly. In the summer, the terrace on the charming little market square beckons, whether for a meal, a glass of wine or a coffee. The service is friendly and attentive. Across the street is the Marktkeller brasserie and wine bar. They also put on regular themed evenings. Tip: Take a stroll through the enchanting
