Surrounded by centuries-old linden trees and the rows of the family winery – which provide a backdrop for outdoor tables in fine weather – Bernard Korak has shaped a cuisine that is deeply tied to the land and seasonality. After important experiences alongside Three-MICHELIN-Star chefs such as Ana Roš and Massimo Bottura, the chef chose to enhance the traditions of the Plešivica region, where mountains blend with rolling hills covered with vineyards. His proposal consists of a single eight-course blind tasting menu, sometimes flanked by a shorter five-course version, to offer an intense and su

Not centrally located, but still within walking distance (about 3 km), this modern restaurant has two settings: a minimalist veranda and an indoor dining room enhanced by decorative touches inspired by the Orient. The proposal is entirely dedicated to Japanese cuisine, revisited with some contemporary touches. The lengthy menu ranges from uramaki, nigiri, sashimi, hosomaki, tataki, dim sum, signature rolls, and more.To make it easier to choose, we recommend Sushi Sets, thematic assortments that allow you to sample different specialities. Situated in inland Slovenia, just a few kilometres from the border with Croatia, this is one of the most interesting restaurants in the region. Here, highly experienced owner-chef Jure Tomič has created an excellent network of suppliers from all over Slovenia. His meat and fish dishes are prepared with a modern, precise and technical touch that is unfussy and focuses on bringing out the full flavour of his ingredients. Traditional recipes and ingredients are reinterpreted with a personal twist: examples are the plum extract served with duck and the sweet “butter, honey and milk” dish that take

Transferred to Ul. Huga Badalića 19. The proposal of young chef Marko Turković, originally from the picturesque island of Korčula, stands out for its originality and courage. We are located in the authentic and popular district of Trešnjevka, just as the restaurant itself is authentic and Spartan, deliberately informal, almost chaotic, animated by a "punk" energy that the owner wishes to share with his guests. The scene is all about the cuisine, which is serious business here: a single blind tasting menu (in five or six courses, depending on the time of year), focusing on Croatian ingredients

Not far from the city centre, this spacious restaurant extends through contemporary settings organised over several spaces. The gastronomic offerings are eclectic and of high quality: a brasserie where you can enjoy excellent meat from different parts of the world, with special attention to the matured meats, flanked by a fair selection of tacos. The atmosphere is more relaxed at lunchtime, while in the evening the venue comes alive by becoming a trendy hangout, with two evenings dedicated to live music and DJ sets on weekends.

Mediterranean Cuisine, Croatian

This contemporary bistro, recently renovated but with over twenty years of history, is located on the outskirts of the capital in a green and peaceful area, offering a spacious outdoor area perfect for the warmer months. The cuisine highlights the local territory with classic recipes reinterpreted in a modern style, enriched by a Mediterranean touch, especially in the seafood offerings. The inspectors’ favorite dish: Shredded lamb, artichoke cream, cinnamon demi-glace, and baked radicchio.
