A Casa do Porco
Pork, Brazilian · Bib
$$
If you're looking to savour pork like nowhere else on earth… this is the place! Here, chef Jefferson Rueda — who oversees the rearing of the pigs and the growing of most of the vegetables used in the restaurant — revives timeless flavours through technically sophisticated dishes. In an informal, relaxed, and rather lively space with an open kitchen, you'll find the option to order à la carte or to go for the tasting menu: D.O.C. (Denominação de Origem Caipira), which brings traditional rural Brazilian cooking into the contemporary age, weaving together classic dishes and more gastronomic small

In this casual and welcoming restaurant shared with the Livraria Megafauna bookshop in the iconic Copan building, guests can enjoy all-day dining between the bookshelves, in front of the kitchen or in the open-air dining space, with options varying between toasted sandwiches and “pão de queijo” to “baião de dois” (black-eyed peas with rice). Dishes you won’t want to pass up include the appetising squid tempura with tapioca and caju ponzu, an

Located in the heart of the city, at an unusual address on the sixth floor overlooking the Minhocão, this restaurant has become one of the most popular in the São Paulo capital. The kitchen, led by Argentine chef Pablo Inca, seeks to “share experiences connected to the land for an urban experience” and offers a short menu designed for sharing, constantly changing depending on the availability of the best ingredients. To start, order the star dish: Tortilla de lula, squid tortilla, with lightly spicy coalhada and finished with coriander. Then try the unmissable Coração de pato, duck heart, serv

If you’re passionate about Italian cuisine and delicious fresh pasta, you’ve probably already heard of this restaurant, as Più is one of the pioneers of Italian cooking in the Greater São Paulo area. Under the baton of chef Marcelo Laskani, it now has its second outlet in the Shopping Pátio Higienópolis, where the innovative cooking calls upon top-quality Brazilian ingredients. Dishes such as tuna carpaccio stand out for their fresh, light touch, and are raised to an even higher level by a delicious accompaniment of fresh tomato, raspberry vinegar and burrata. A small Japanese restaurant that attracts customers from around the world. Discreet and simple in appearance, it also has a somewhat surprising location in a modest shopping centre. It is slightly reminiscent of the more authentic restaurants found in Tokyo (with just a chef, a counter, a rice cooker and a chopping board) and could almost pass unnoticed if you’re not looking out for it. Working alone, chef Keisuke Egashira bases the dining experience on the quality of the ingredients (grouper, tuna belly, squid, red snapper, Japanese amberjack etc), preparing sushi and sashimi with impressive

An unusual and exclusive restaurant that is more akin to a secret dining club, where guests dine at the same time and important details are requested before they arrive (such as if they are right- or left-handed, if they have any allergies, or if they prefer sake or wine, etc). In the bright interior, with its minimalist decor and impressive dining counter with just nine seats, the aim is to resurrect classic and authentic Japanese cuisine using ancestral techniques that make full use of the best market ingredients (scallops with sea salt, sea bream with yuzu, yellowtail with sesame, horse mac

The stars of the show in this Japanese restaurant in the centre of the city close to the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand are the grilled sushi and the grill itself. Here, dishes are cooked using the famous binchotan charcoal, an extremely pure charcoal (high density, high heat yield, very little smoke etc) that endows a very special flavour to dishes cooked on it. Chef Gerard Barberan with the assistance of executive chef Henry Miyano, offers a single Omakase menu at the counter around the kitchen for a maximum of ten guests per sitting (you need to be punctual as service starts
