The first floor of the long-established Zur Schwane hotel is home to a wonderfully chic restaurant, whose decor embodies a harmonious blend of old and new. A highly adept kitchen team creates modern dishes with classical foundations, homing in on the essentials: ingredients and flavours. The carefully selected produce is sourced locally if possible, and some even comes from the hotel's garden. The chefs also have a penchant for herbs. Only German wines are served, including some from the restaurant's estate (they are all available by the glass, too). It's definitely worth opting for the sugges

In this centuries-old inn in the beautiful old town, this is a truly charming alternative to the fine dining restaurant. Both the inviting, rustic-style restaurant room and fantastic inner courtyard are appealing places to eat. In the evening, you can order modern-inspired classic dishes à la carte or opt for the "Romantik" set menu. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced; some of the vegetables are from their own garden, and they have their own wines. Hearty meals (‘Brotzeit’) are served at lunchtime.

Max Matreux has been at the helm of this sleekly designed restaurant in a side wing of a factory since 2001. He champions a responsible approach, as is apparent in his classic cuisine, which features seasonal and regional ingredients. In addition to the three- to five-course set menu, there is an appealing à la carte selection. Friendly and professional service adds to the pleasant atmosphere.

This small restaurant has plenty of regulars, who are drawn by the modern and elegant decor, the friendly and professional service and the seasonal international cuisine. A choice of three menus, one of which is vegetarian, is proposed. You can also swap out courses or order à la carte. The wine list is sure to please, with an especially well-curated selection of labels from the region.
