't Raedthuys

Modern French, Classic French · ★ Michelin

€€€

Striking contemporary art adorns the walls inside this historical property dating back to 1863 – at 't Raedthuys, art and dining go hand in hand. The modern decor beautifully preserves the building's authentic character. A window to the kitchen allows you to see the chefs and their team at work. On sunny days, the terrace at the front is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two. Prepare to be delighted as hostess Anouska Lamers and sommelier Karina van der Kolk introduce you to their unique collection of imported wines, which pair beautifully with the culinary creations of Tom Lamers and

De Watermolen

Classic Cuisine

€€

This watermill, which is over 600 years old, is without a doubt the star attraction of this charming restaurant. Both the warm and welcoming interior and the secluded terrace are popular. Ramon Klaassen takes great pride in his work, which you cannot fail to notice during his interactions with diners. His unique take on classic dishes never disappoints. For example he rolls up soft-boiled duck ham and fills it with a rich poultry mousse. Playful garnishes such as an onion chutney with nuts and reduced balsamic vinegar add that little something extra. The set menu (with options) is a hit – even

Loca

French Contemporary

€€

This is the kind of cosy neighbourhood restaurant where locals gather to indulge in appealing tapas-style creations that showcase regional ingredients. Chef and owner Rob takes a straightforward approach when it comes to bringing bold flavours to your plate. The crispy brioche toast topped with smoked eel, sour cream and green apple is a wonderful starter. Or you might try the crispy veal sweetbreads served with a veal jus seasoned with cumin. Conviviality is the name of the game, and the menu of shareable dishes certainly reinforces that. Dinner at Loca is the perfect excuse to venture out of

The Church

Creative

€€€

With its stained-glass windows, sculptures, murals and old pews, this Lutheran church has been beautifully preserved. The juxtaposition of modern opulence with the venue's rich past is truly inspired. Take in the spectacle of the open kitchen while enjoying a meal prepared right before your eyes. Nestled in the church's rafters, there are a few cosy guestrooms. But first, it's time to let yourself be spoiled by Bart Leussink, a chef who embraces creativity and boldness in his cooking. For instance, he elevates lamb neck with a crispy herb crust and lamb fillet with a vibrant sweet-and-sour cuc

The Green Rose

Organic, Seasonal Cuisine

€€€

Jin Hu lives according to the rhythm of the micro-seasons and lets nature determine his creativity. Local artisans inspire him, and he uses every part of his own livestock. This close connection and respect for his environment are the common thread running through his French/Asian fusion dishes. Pure. Intense. For example, the chef surrounds al dente leeks with a delicate cream made from the vegetable, salty cockles from the North Sea with chives and a butter sauce with yuzu for a delicate freshness. Surprises lurk in every dish here, as they do in the special selection of natural wines and sp

Trattoria Da Giulio

Italian

€€

Giulio keeps the traditions of his native Sardinia alive in this cheerful trattoria. He makes his own pasta and bread every day, and the orata (gilt-head bream) in a salt crust is even filleted at the table. Here the Italian art of simplicity is at its most exuberant. House-made pappardelle with a creamy duck sauce, an aromatic panna cotta topped with a subtly flavoured juniper jam... Da Giulio is undeniably the best Italian in Arnhem!

Konijnenvoer

Vegetarian, Creative

€€€

(Temporarily closed. Re-opens on 2 July 2026 at Kerkstraat 19 in Arnhem) Plant-based dishes were long thought of as rabbit food (konijnenvoer in Dutch). Thanks to places like this, those days are over. Demian Parasmo and his team bring together local ingredients and creative ideas, often infused with influences from the Mediterranean and further afield. Fermented flavours and playful textures bring each plate to life. Oyster mushrooms from Arnhem, for example, are fermented in shio koji and barbecued, yielding a rich umami taste. These are served with a yeast crumble, a hazelnut cream and wild

Locals

Farm to table

€€

Housed in the same building as Hotel Haarhuis, just across from Arnhem Central train station, Locals boasts a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Ingredients are sourced as locally as possible, according to the principles of Dutch Cuisine. The abundance of plants and warm colours reflects that philosophy. Upstairs, there is even a vertical farm. The chef delights in working with vegetables, eg incorporating lentils from the Netherlands into a curry with herbs from the farm, seasonal vegetables and briny seaweed, and most of the fish and meat are locally sourced. . This place really lives up to its name!
