On a charming piazza presided over by an elm tree and a seventeenth-century church, tables in two of the three dining rooms overlook the scene, while the contemporary elegance of D’O unfolds inside. Chef Davide Oldani, now a defining figure of Italian cuisine, crafts dishes that distill twenty years of work and formative experiences, including memorable stints with Marchesi and Ducasse. Creative ideas rooted in Italian taste, impeccable technique, and presentations that are both essential and playfully pop: as exemplified by the Cuttlefish in its ink with pickled porcini and dill. Olmo takes its name from the large elm tree that stands in the centre of Cornaredo’s small square, a symbol of the town’s pedestrianised area. This new restaurant opened by chef Davide Oldani has just three tables, which can be pushed together to accommodate a maximum of 14 guests, plus an open-view kitchen. The tasting menu here showcases the chef’s creative, modern dishes which focus on seasonal ingredients, balance and an attractive play between texture and temperature. In the heart of Rho old town, among the quiet lanes of the restricted traffic zone, lies a corner of Abruzzo that exudes authenticity. A tempting, family-run refuge where a simple atmosphere meets refined, welcoming details. Tradition takes shape in dishes that tell stories of genuine flavours: such as the famous “chitarra alla teramana”, fresh pasta covered in a rich and enveloping sauce, with little meatballs and the bold touch of pecorino cheese. An invitation to sit down, indulge and feel right at home.
