Guest scores & sentiment

From 80 guest reviews · multi-source · as of 2026-07-20

Guests consistently praise the exceptional breakfast, warm family-style service, modern spacious rooms, and scenic mountain location. The main drawbacks involve the spa’s limited opening hours and compact size, cold pool water, and noise from children affecting relaxation. Some also note missing room fridges and the absence of an on-site restaurant for dinner.

The restaurant of Almfamilyhotel Scherer, which is right at the foot of the ski slope, ticks a lot of boxes: cheerful, modern Alpine decor, attentive service and, above all, delicious food that showcases carefully selected seasonal produce. You don't have to be a hotel guest to fall in love with delicious dishes served here, such as braised piglet cheeks with creamed parsnips, crispy apricot and rosemary dumplings, and asparagus. Lunch and dinner can be ordered à la carte. Additionally, you have the option to pre-order the surprise menu for the evening – named "THE TASTE", it comprises at leas

This restaurant is located on a high plateau on the Pustertaler Höhenstraße (Val Pusteria Scenic Road) at an altitude of over 1 200m – its terrace with views of the Dolomites and Carnic Alps is enchanting. Ensconced in the hotel of the same name, run by the Mascher family, son Tom and his kitchen team cook seasonal regional fare, incorporating just the right amount of modern creativity. From the "Your Choice" section, you can choose à la carte, eg trout, walnut espuma, balsamic shallots, or steak, parsnip, curried potato and soya; alternatively there is the "Chef's Choice" surprise set menu co

Within two magnificent wood-paneled stuben from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, nestled in a traditional mountain house in a quiet area of authentic charm, chef Fabrizia Meroi draws from tradition and reinterprets it according to season and personal inspiration. Local aromas and fresh ingredients guide every dish: no virtuosity for its own sake, but a precise and sensitive reading of flavors. Emblematic is the treatment of tongue, which acquires a subtle smoky note from yakitori-style cooking before being veiled in a delicate licorice glaze. The wine cellar is equally impeccable, off

Located in the town centre by the Pfarrbrücke, Gasthof Goldener Stern (est. 1791) is home to David and Anita Senfter's restaurant. Diners enjoy a cosy atmosphere in charming rustic rooms beneath vaulted ceilings, with traditional stoves providing warmth in winter. After stints in renowned kitchens (with Heinz Reitbauer, Silvio Nickol, Vitus Winkler and Andreas Döllerer), the chef-patron now cooks up modern cuisine using regional ingredients – cooked over an open fire. A highlight is the grill-braised beetroot, which is packed with flavour, has a gentle smoky note and is served with pleasingly

A true home from home! The restaurant is housed in Hotel Strasserwirt, whose history – dating back to 1399 – in no small way contributes to the wonderful atmosphere. The dining area is divided into three charming "parlours", which could hardly be more different in their individual designs and tasteful details: Swiss stone pine panelling and sacred art (Blaue Ofenstube), handmade emerald-green floor tiles and ceramic stove (Ambrosiusstube) and exposed walls combined with spruce furnishings finished with white soap (Stube1399). The set menu, comprising up to five courses, features delicious dish

A wonderful family-run restaurant, now with two dedicated brothers from the next generation at the helm. Clemens Gesser is in charge of the kitchen and serves up ambitious regional cuisine made exclusively with ingredients sourced from the surrounding area. A surprise menu is the sole proposal – diners can choose to have between four and seven courses. Meticulously crafted dishes such as smoked salmon trout tartare with buttermilk and herb oil, or flavoursome pumpkin ravioli with milk foam showcase the chef's skill. Up to eight diners share one large table positioned right next to the kitchen

Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Dolomite valley of Sappada, Mondschein is one of the area's most refined and sought-after gourmet retreats. The kitchen is filled with the aromas of the forest and local flavours, combined with the freshness of seasonal ingredients: don't miss the tender and juicy venison fillet, enhanced by a mountain pine sauce and the spicy sweetness of Williams pears with saffron. Restaurant im Parkhotel Tristachersee

Farm to table, Seasonal Cuisine

The romantic lakeside location is an attraction in itself – here on the shore of Tristachersee, the dedicated Kreuzer family run both the lovely hotel and the restaurant. The dining space is inviting; the winter garden extending out over the water is wonderful – in summer it gets turned into a terrace! The menu draws on good-quality, mostly local produce – char, trout, Danube salmon etc are from their own fish ponds nearby. They serve various set menus and an à la carte selection. The hotel also has its own spring water, which is offered free of charge throughout the premises.
