This authentic and sophisticated dining experience is the brainchild of Frank Xu, the descendant of a Shenzhen cooking dynasty. Some of his signature creations include dim sum of foie gras, fillet of seabass in ginger, Peking-style duck (served in two courses), or shrimps in a balanced blend of breadcrumbs, garlic and chili peppers. The “Diamond” menu for two, which includes duck, is highly recommended. The red, black and gold colour scheme mingles exoticism and elegance, while the floor-to-ceiling windows lead onto a spacious terrace that is bliss in summertime, and which overlooks a swimming

€€

This modern restaurant boasts a great location next to the historical town hall and has a charming terrace laid out in the garden. The seasonally inspired menu successfully brings together modern Italian and French cuisine, while keeping an open mind when it comes to international influences. Cordial and competent service. Tip: the competitively priced lunch menu.

Buffet de la Gare

Traditional Cuisine

€€

An old-fashioned restaurant of the type that is quite hard to find these days. It has Art Deco-style wood panelling, enamel plaques and coloured windows, as well as a terrace overlooking the surrounding greenery. There is also a traditional feel to the menu, which includes perch from Lake Geneva.

SUSHO

Sushi, Ramen

€€

Just outside Geneva, this small sushi joint is frequently packed to the seams. Two young chefs wield their high-precision skills, rolling out impeccable nigiris, lemony hamachi, flambéed salmon. Ten out of ten for their spicy Crispy Shrimp Roll and the rich, comforting Shoyu Ramen. Sheltered terrace, tightly packed tables and a vibrant energy depict this on-the-ball eatery!

Auberge de Grilly

Modern Cuisine

In a charming village between Gex and Divonne, Auberge de Grilly stands close to the church. While the interior decor tends toward the rustic, the cuisine is modern, with dishes based on fine ingredients cleverly curated into just one generous tasting menu. Service with a smile, plus a pleasant terrace.

Auberge Les Platanes

Classic French

€€

This elegant 17C mansion marries bourgeois comforts and French fine dining with an accent on rich sauces and seasonal produce. Flawless, spot-on service and a subtle hint of nostalgia courtesy of old sewing machines turned into side tables set the scene. Highlights of the flavoursome menu include textbook-perfect steak tartare, prepared at the table by your hostess according to each diner’s personal preferences and served with piping hot fresh fries – a traditional meal, rich in ritual and with all the trimmings!
