2027 will mark forty years of business: a story made up of aromas, flavours and traditions, the story of the Portinari family, who have carved their name among the pillars of Venice's restaurant scene and beyond. Chef Nicola Portinari welcomes guests to La Peca with one clear goal: to give them pleasure, letting them choose freely from an extensive and inviting menu (for those who prefer a guided experience, there are three tasting menus, including a vegetarian option). Leafing through it, it is easy to be seduced by dishes that speak to the palate and the mind. His creations are technical, bu

Damini Macelleria & Affini

You’ll be surprised by the entrance to this restaurant – the door opens into one of the region’s best-stocked butcher’s, delicatessen and general retailer of niche food products. It’s well worth taking time to browse the shelves before making your way to the dining room to the rear, where wine bottles line the walls (the wine cellar is also superb). Meat takes centre stage at Damini, including top-quality meat from the region and further afield. The menu features classic dishes alongside more creative options, plus a few more exotic ingredients.

"Just a few tables arranged in a simple, minimalist dining room, facing the open kitchen: the focus here is on chef Giuliano Baldessari and his creative culinary interpretations. There is a restricted selection of dishes available à la carte but, if you really want to enter his culinary world, opt for one of the surprise tasting menus, the first of which consists of ten dishes, served if you’re visiting for the first time, while the last comprises sixteen. Whatever you choose, you can expect sophisticated, imaginative cuisine of the highest standard. "

Situated in the Berici hills, this restaurant run by a friendly and welcoming family boasts views of the surrounding greenery from its first-floor dining rooms. Although the cuisine focuses on local ingredients (in other words, mainly meat), the menu also includes a particularly delicious baccalà alla vicentina (salted cod).

You follow winding roads up into the Lessini hills to get to this small paradise, a rustic setting which is home to an elegant, family-run restaurant where everyone works hard to ensure that you enjoy your evening. Federico Pettenuzzo and his mother are at the helm in the kitchen (the latter responsible for the delicious pastas), while Federico’s brother Riccardo oversees the front of house. The creative cuisine is prepared from ingredients sourced from all over Italy and further afield, with some occasionally original combinations.

Housed in the “barchessa” of a Palladian villa dating from 1541, this restaurant boasts an elegant dining room with an open fireplace. The cuisine here is creative and of excellent quality, with many of the main meat courses cooked over the barbecue grill. All in all, a romantic setting and superb food that is not to be missed.
